John Stamos and Paget Brewster play Jimmy Martino and Sara Kingsley, the parents of a 25-year-old father named Gerald, played by Josh Peck. The hook: Jimmy only learned of Gerald’s existence in the Pilot.
On a “family” outing to the beach Gerald is one of a group of men standing frowning, scanning the beach for a clear spot of sand, preferably away from the garbage.
Jimmy: “Look at him. He’s making Dad Face.”
Sara: “What’s Dad Face?”
Jimmy: “What him and the other dads are making.”
Sara: “Are you really criticizing his face?”
Jimmy: “No. I like his face. He’s got my face. He just doesn’t know how to use it.”
I now think this sounded funnier when John Stamos said it than it reads. On the other hand I could have listed it under Bad Grammar, since as we all know, he should have said “What he and the other dads are making.”
