The Swarm (1978) – reviewed by George

The picture is well-cast – this does not mean  that everyone gives a good performance. Irwin Allen was always a better producer than director, but here the movie fails not because of Allen’s direction (though it isn’t very good), but simply because watching people being stung to death by killer bees is rather like watching a group of your friends who’ve had way too much to drink try to do the Izzy Dizzy.
The film has (according to my count) 14 stars and only 5 of them are still alive at the end. Hooray for the lucky 9!
Basically a bore.
